A distinguishing feature of the doussie tree is its beautiful scarlet-red flowers and large (up to 30 cm) fruit. The tree reaches a height of up to 35 m and
a diameter of up to 1.2 m.
Just like other floors made of tropical wood, doussie is excellent in rooms with high humidity. Taking into account the hardness of the wood and its durability, doussie is used for building ships, in railroads, in the production of containers for chemical agents, stairs, windows, furniture and floors.
Doussie is found in dry, evergreen forests of eastern and southern Africa, mainly in Cameroon.
