All the Baltic Wood floors are standardly finished with high abrasion resistance varnish.
However, it is recommended that for high-traffic areas (e.g. children’s playrooms, halls and parlours) higher abrasion resistance varnish is used.
All our varnishes are subjected to resistance tests. A floor sample, factory finished with a UV-hardened varnish, is worked with a special abrasive.
In the test procedure, the sample is placed in a device equipped with a pair of weighted abrading wheels. As it is set in circular motion, the abrasive gets to wear the varnish layer. The test result is the number of revolutions needed for the abrasive to wear its way through the varnish to the wood.
Tests in accordance with EN 13696 norm:

*while comparing the varnish abrasion test results for various manufacturers of wood flooring, one should pay particularly close attention to the standard according to which the tests have been conducted.
