Some advice on how to preserve the beauty of the floor for many years:
- Remember that the wood floor can be installed only when subfloor, walls and ceilings are dry, i.e. their humidity does not exceed 2% (concrete elements) and 0,5% (anhydrite elements).
- Watch out for potential contact points between the floor and outdoor conditions. Outside doors must be tightly installed so that it insulates the floor from the outdoor moisture.
- Make sure the interior humidity does not exceed or go below acceptable 30-60%.
- Carefully consider the character of the room in which you are going to have the wood floor installed. Think about all elements as doors, furniture, windows, window sills, decorations, etc.
- While installing Baltic Wood floors over a floor heating system, you should follow the guidelines provided in the instruction manual.
- Hire a professional to install your wood floor. Define the conditions and sign the contract. If you decide to install the floor remember to carefully read the Baltic Wood floor installation instructions. Follow them closely and you will avoid errors.
- Before bringing in the furniture put felt pads on all the legs. Note that the swivel chair castors tend to scratch. Replace them with special hardwood floor castors or use floor protection mats made
of PVC.
- Remember that in order to be satisfied with your floor you need to care for it properly. Clean the floor using the guidelines included in the Baltic Wood floor installation instructions.
- Place doormats at the entrance. These will prevent sand and other scratchy substances from being carried onto the floor.
